The Southern California Clinical & Translational Science Institute (SC CTSI), Education, Career Development, and Ethics Program is offering a free short-course that introduces to the broad spectrum of clinical and translational research. The course is directed at new clinical/translational researchers, faculty, clinicians and researchers seeking to develop their skills in reading and interpreting reports of clinical/translational research, and already active researchers wanting to obtain a stronger methodological foundation. This short-course is designed to give participants an overview of what clinical/translational science is and to analyze and interpret data results. This course is delivered in a hybrid format: Prior to attending the face-to-face course, participants will independently view video-recorded lectures and background material (available via the Internet). Then, through lecture summaries, and problem-oriented breakout sessions, attendees will critically ap-praise a clinical/translational research article. Upon completion of the course, a USC certificate (non-credit) will be issued within two weeks. Attendees must be present throughout the entire course in order to be issued a certificate of completion.
